Me & Photography
My name is Antti Johansson. I live in Helsinki together with my lady. I work as a social counselor in an intoxicant and mental health section for teenagers in the child welfare.
Nowadays photography is a serious hobby for me. It started when I bought my first SLR in 2007 (Canon 400d). Gradually after this photography has become a way for me to explore my surroundings. I believe this is the main reason why I am so enthusiastic and interested about photography.
I photograph everything that excites me. It can be a beautiful sea- or landscape, a hectic city panorama, a stunning graffiti or interesting moment from daily life. I’ll take my photos with long exposures or HDR. Now and then I’ll go documentary way by just snapping photos from daily life. As an opposite for documentary, I’m also curious to play with flashes.
Besides photographing I’m eager to do post processing on my photos. With post processing I’m able to correct all the small mistakes in the original photo and emphasize interesting elements on it.
As a photographer my main objective is to develop my skills and consequently improve the quality of my photos. Most important thing is to study other photographers’ work which gives me inspiration and reminds me that I have still so much to learn.
